Islamic Leadership Institute of America's EmpoweReer Offers Young Adults Unique 18-Month Leadership & Social Impact Development Opportunities

Ellicott City – July 5, 2023 ~ Thul Hijjah 17th, 1444 – Islamic Leadership Institute of America (ILIA), a leading advocate for youth empowerment and community development, is proud to announce its selection by the Howard County Government to spearhead a comprehensive youth development program for the next 18 months. This collaboration aims to create meaningful opportunities and foster the growth and success of the county's youth population.

Under the dynamic partnership, Islamic Leadership Institute of America will work closely with the Howard County Government to design and implement a range of innovative initiatives, providing young adults with the resources, support, and guidance necessary to thrive in various aspects of their lives. The program will focus on empowering young individuals and equipping them with the necessary skills, knowledge, and experiences to problem solve, design, build, and contribute in a meaningful way to their personal and professional endeavors while making an impact on their communities.

Throughout the 18-month program, Islamic Leadership Institute of America will offer an array of experiential learning opportunities key areas of youth development, including:

Career Development and Job Readiness: The program will provide career exploration workshops, resume building assistance, interview coaching, professional social media branding, and job placement support to equip young individuals with the skills and confidence needed to succeed in the competitive job market.

Leadership and Life Skills: Islamic Leadership Institute of America will facilitate leadership training programs, workshops on project management, communication and interpersonal skills, and personal development sessions to foster self-confidence, resilience, and empower the youth to become leaders in their communities.

Community Engagement and Volunteerism: A key component of the program will involve encouraging youth participation in community service activities, fostering a sense of civic responsibility and social awareness among the participants.

EmpoweReer is open to all youth who reside in Howard County between the ages of 13 and 19, regardless of their faith status, affiliation, or lack thereof.
